Default 93 Si Dizzy/ECU questions

Hi, I've gotten conflicting info, so I am looking for a little clarification here. I bought a theft recovery 93 Civic SI, w/ D16z6 motor. Starting fixing it up, but I am having some idle problems, weird ones too. Got to talking to auction guy, trying to figure out what the previous owner was running.

Dizzy and radiator got jacked...looks like there was some fuel/air guages hooked up. ECU is not chipped. Headers and aftermarket O2 sensors installed.

There is currenty installed a TD 42U dizzy, in good shape, but you have to advance it basically as far as possible to keep the car from near stall when warm.

I thought I had the right dizzy for the Z6, but after a few nights of tinkering I went back to it...then found this:

Year Range: 1992-1995
Category: Honda Engine Electrical
Notes:
New TEC TD-42U
Model Engine: D15Z1
Make: Honda
Model: Civic 1.5 VX 3Dr

I was under the assumption that any EX/SI 1.6L dizzy is ok for the Z6...

Also, my buddy has a Z6 and his dizzy only says D42U, no 'T'. At this point I am wondering if the goons down south threw a VX dizzy on to get the car at least running...I've eliminated most of the other options. No codes, runs great at speed, VTEC engages, but I have a big rough idle/ near-stall when hot issue.

Interestingly, my Fast Idle Valve is no good, wax leaked out, got one coming tommorow...I don't think this is my main prob though, as the car runs rough when cold also. Checked IACV, new cap, rotor, plugs, wires, checked other items in Idle TShooter chart, confirmed Timing is good on Head/Crank marks.

I've been looking at a few advertised true Z6 distributors, but don't want to waste my $$$ if I'm beating down the wrong track here.

One other thing..was looking at ECU wiring, noticed they had popped out a wire from C404, spot #24, left it cut. This is Ignition Output Signa A22. Its fellow Reg/Grn was installed in pin 11 and not messed with as far as I could tell--could not see where they splice together, near firewall I assume.
Anyways, when I reconnected #24, the car would barely run, huge difference, so I disconnected it again.

There is a dead 2-pin grey plug hanging near battery, live power, runs yellow and red wires to tie into Yellow/Black C405 B1 Power input and A25 Power Input, sodered near ECU. I am very curious what this was installed for...MSD or fuel/air meter?

ECU mods are not my forte, but I thought it might make sense to someone here. If anyone has some wisdom for a newbie Tech, I would owe you a very large favor, or series of them.

I wish I knew what this guy used to run...At least I finally got the SI I always wanted ;P

sounds like there was an AFC in there at one time.

the VX and EX/SI distributors are the same. No worries there.

about your timing, it sounds like you are a tooth off on the cam gear. That is if you're jumpering the service jumper when you're setting the timing...
