Default 93 eg d16 zc

So I'm trying to build my eg with a d16 zc non vtec, from the info that I've collected and received I have the 3rd gen zc 96-99 so it was obd2? The thing is that everything connected just right except for my distributer didn't quite fit on the head. As of right now it starts but doesn't stay on. I have a y7 intake, new o2, obd1 distributer t42. I have the p06 ecu but my mechanic believes I need another ecu, and I have a p76.

My question is, will the p76 work? But this p76 is obd1 but it only has the a and d port. Err should I get it to be obd2?

I don't want to buy a chipped ecu unless it's an easy process.
