I was told that the stock 1993 del sol si had a 1.6 liter v-tec is this true or just a rumor. Thanks for any help you can give

It's true, but it's a SOHC. I believe it is the D16Z6 if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, the engine code is stamped on the block near the transmission. However, if your engine is original to the car (ie, check the VIN matches on the tranny and on the dash), then you have a SOHC VTEC D16Z6, 125 hp at the flywheel. There are a number of ways to check your model also.....look at the tach, if the redline is at 7200 rpm, you have an Si model.

The tach reading isn't a good practice to do enless you've known the car. Someone could easily swap in a different cluster. Just look for the stamp or at the vin.
