'93 del Sol vs. '01 Civic Lx 5spd Shifting Smoothness
So I have a stock '93 del Sol. 5spd. D16z6. 210k. I thinks it has a cable trans.
I drove my sister's '01 Civic. 5spd. D16y8. 110k. Probably hydro trans.
Why does her shifting feels sooo much smother, not clutch, or anything just the shifting itself, where-as w/ my del sol I have to like find 1-5..
I've already changed my fluid, etc, etc.
Will new Energy Suspension bushing help?

full engine mount kit and shift bushing kit will stiffen up your shifting alot. most stock mounts are shot after 70k...

The SYNCROS in the 01 civic are in better condition. Syncros help the gears match up before they meet. If they go bad you grind. Worse they get easier you grind. If you decide to jus grind away, thats how you get gear POP OUT.
Hope it helps..

My trans doesn't grind at all.
If you go to shift in my sisters em2, you could flick her shifter into each gear. Mine you have to place in each gear more physically.
I'm curious as to why, and what I oculd do to change that If possible.
Thanks for the help peeps

Your Del Sol has a solid metal shift linkage. Your sister's civic has cable shift linkage. They feel different. Solid linkage will shift very well if the bushings are in good condition though.
