Default '93 cx with a D15B7.. no power over 3k, struggling

i just swapped a b7 into my hatch. previously had a b8 in it.

it's struggling to maintain power through accel. and almost feels like i'm running on 2 cylinders. i'm running the b8 5 speed ecu. could my issues stem from running the wrong ecu?

replaced the headgasket, intake gasket, z6 intake and throttle body, everything is tightened to spec.

and sorry mods! please move if i posted this wrong. debated on here or engine management since it's mostly and ecu question.

That and the fuel injectors if you reused your CX fuel injectors. I converted my B8 to DX spec just like yours with a Z6 intake manifold. It stumbled and was sluggish until I switched injectors (I had the correct ECU already). Using the CX ECU and injectors can only work to a point before it starts acting funny. All else being equal, essentially you just added more air than the ECU is expecting and it can only calibrate/compensate so much.

Put it this way, the ECU doesn't know you swapped engines and it doesn't care. All it knows is that it's getting signals from sensors with the assumption that the signals are being generated from the correct engine being used. When it makes adjustments it does so based on the fuel maps for the assumed correct engine.
