i have a 93 civic ex with a d16a motor it will run with the distributor anywhere as rotating it goes but has no power unless advanced completely!? and also sucks gas like a v8 any help or advice would be appreciated.

p.s. going to tear apart the timing belt side of the motor this weekend to make sure the timing is aligned right!

did you clean the rotor and noids out in the dizzy?

Are you ABSOLUTELY sure the mechanical timing is correct?
Is the dizzy OEM or aftermarket?
Are you sure the correct timing belt is installed (they come in two flavors, 103 tooth and 106 tooth)
Was there a head swap done on this motor?

oem distributor and idk about the belt 103 or 106 tooth and im absolutely positive the mechanical timing is on checked it today. also cleaned the point on distributor cap!? should i tear apart the distributor and check the internals connections etc? thanks for the reply though
