Hi I have a 93 civic ex and it will not always start sometimes it does others it doesn't,when I press on the gas and try it does work.when it does start it sometimes dies unless I give it gas, I think it might be a fuel problem but don't want to start throwing parts at it to fix, any ideas? Thank you

Clogged fuel filter, weak fuel pump, faulty fuel pressure regulator. Without a fuel pressure gauge, you will not be able to test the regulator, but I would check the items listed above in the order in which they are listed.

Was gonna ask, do you know when it was changed last?

Another question that might be relevant is do you know if or how many times the car has been driven till dry (driven till totally out of gas)? One or two times is detrimental for the fuel pump.

One thing the gentleman above me didn't suggest was clogged fuel injectors. When was the last time you ran a fuel injection cleaner? The one I'd personally recommend is Wynn's Power Charge. Wynn's product has been clearly demonstrated to clean carbon out of the fuel lines and injectors. Probably one of the best fuel system cleaners out there.

Then the other part to check test is of course the Regulator on the fuel rail.
