Re: 92 VX Hatch Makeover with boost
Ok next issue..... Was cleaning up my car friday night getting it ready for the car show saturday (of which i recieved 3rd place!) and just as i was finishing up cleaing he bay i noticed the inside of my turbo.
Fins all bent/eaten up and the compressor housing eaten up from the blades hitting. LOTS of shaft play too. What the ****!!! Its brand new?
I have less then 100 miles on this turbo. Got it last september, it was put on, drove about 10 miles then the car never moved again. Only a small amount of idle time in the garage. Then pulled the motor in january so it sat out for a long while there too. Literally since ive had it, i have put at the very most, 50-100 miles on it and maybe an hour or two of idle time in the garage.
I primed it very well before it was put on, it gets proper oil supply, always have it filtered while driving, i have no idea how this could have happened. The turbo itself hasnt ever seen over 3500 rpm even!
I bought it brand new from the vendor here on honda-tech who was having a sale, No Limit Motorsport. I emailed Chris which is who i was dealing with when i got it. Havent got a reply yet but im skeptical on whats gonna happen. Whats everyone think? Anyone seen anything like this before???

^^^
That is some damage right there. Looks like the bearing journal cracked....allowing the shaft to move in and out while spinning. Damn...

As far as im concerned Precision is one of the top competitors are they not? They have more then proven themselves to compete with the big boys.

Holy **** that looks pretty bad. It doesn't look like you've been ******* it out so hopefully these images are more than enough, plus the build thread proves that this car has left your garage space. GL dude.

Re: 92 VX Hatch Makeover with boost
Ok well i finally got ahold of chris and figured things out. Thank god he helped me out. I should still be in warrenty and hes thinking it might just be a factory defect of some sort. Lets hope so. Anyway, hes getting ahold of precision and then ill have to send it in for inspection before they can send me a new one or fix it or whatever they might do. Hope all goes well.
Im happy as hell that i might get lucky but at the same time bummed out because now i will have a down car again for im sure awhile.

Yea your right man. Just bummed because i wanted it for summer but i suppose it wont hurt much. We'll just see what he comes back with and what the plan is from here. I suppose i should be happy that they are covering it maybe instead of just blowing it off and saying good luck.
