'92 H23 into 97 civic EX. Just need some opinions. Is it worth it?
I have a 97 civic EX and i know this guy that has a 92 prelude that was hit. I am not sure how bad the damage is because i have not got to go and see the car yet. I do know that the engine and tranny and everything of that nature still works. So the car still runs it is just wrecked. But anyways he is selling it for $400. And i figured that was one heck of a deal. Even if the engine wont go into my car or will just be to hard to swap, me and my dad might be able to just fix the prelude. The engine in the prelude also only has 40k miles. But any opinions on this would be great. Since i am gonna get the whole car I should have everything to swap it out.But i am not sure what all i will need. So any answers on what all i will need to swap it will also be greatly appreciated. THNX. I will see ya'll around.

You need a custom mount kit, and you have to fab up some stuff with the shift linkage to use an prelude engine in a civic....can't use prelude axels either I believe.
Even if you have the prelude, you will spend at least $500 beyond the price of the engine.

You'll need mounts such as HaSport or HCP.
You'll also need custom axles such as Driveshaft axles.
$400 is a good deal though.

You need:
HaSport or HCP Custom Mounts
90+ Integra Axles
90-93 Accord Half-shaft
Prelude Shift linkage
And there is some wiring you have to do from what I heard. HaSport sells a harness for this swap.
I got quoted today from my friend's shop....$1000 High installed parts and labor. He said it might be less...don't know yet.

they do fit perfect, and bolting them in was very easy, ill give that a
but as for engine placement, and axle alignment and the motor placement/axle alignment is more important for me. im trying to get rid of mine and get some HCP or HASport. i've heard nothing but praises for these 2.

Um, the biggest thing is the fact that if you put an engine that is older than your car into your car you are illegal in all 50 states!!!!
