Default 92 eg redline?

i bought a 92 civic hatchback dx and the guy i bought it from put a new cluster in it and it says it redlines at 6k. i was wondering if that was the right place ppl i talk to say thats not right. thanx

redline is 6400 and fuel cutoff is at 6800. sounds like the guy put a vx cluster in so he'd have a tach

I concur.

BTW, there is NO need to take it up that high. You're still going to be slow as molasses whether or not you shift at 3,000 RPM or 6,400 RPM. It's a grocery getter, don't forget that. Drive it normally to get you from point A to point B.

f that i had a dx and beat the **** out of it... i couldn't kill it put a brick on the gas pedal.. and let it rip until smoke came out of the head.... quite amusing... beat that thing to ****.. then do an engine swap....

BTW, grocery getter DOES apply to this. Do you know why? Because, if you take it to the redline, you won't be going anywhere. You are just wasting gas and causing havoc to other drivers if you ever lose control.
