well guys i got it mechanically timed. Thanks for the help. STILL NO START! no change really whatsoever.

Its mechanically timed
no CEL
checked ignition
Have spark
Have fuel
tried known main relay
fuel pump primes

Did you reinstall the old timing belt. Is it remaining in time?

Is spark bright white at all four plugs? Are the plug wires installed in the correct firing order on the cap?

Do the injectors spray fuel?

Have you compression tested the cylinders?

Yes i installed the old timing belt. its remaining in time even after cranking and making the engine do several revolutions. I did your DIY on the wires and have bright white spark on all 4. I've checked the firing order on the cap but will recheck. The injectors sprayed fuel. I got 120 135 135 125 on the compression test with the engine dead cold, that was a dry test didn't do a wet test.

I suspect the engine mechanical timing may still be off by a tooth. Turn the crank until cam is perfectly positioned at TDC1 -- take picture of the cam and of the crank showing the pointer/white mark alignment.

FIRING ORDER! i must of looked at the wrong diagram started right up in the correct order! SO simple. Thanks for the help sorry for wasting your time. Hopefully the thread will someone out. Thanks again!!!!

I appreciate it. I feel like i learned a lot and feel confident on taking on the water pump and timing belt now.
