92 civic runs like ****, help!!
Hello, ive been reading this page for a long time and got great answers but never needed to register until today when i really got fed up with my car.
so... I had a fully built d15b (jdm vtec one) that i blew up. Just did an engine swap and put in a stock d16z6 with a z6 head and skunk2 cam. I hooked everything up just like the way it was with a d15 block and im having some problems that i cannot figure out. The car runs for only 1 minute when cold then keeps dying. The only way to keep it running is to hold the gas down, When i slightly hold the gas the rpms bounce like crazy around 1500. Does the same thing when i drive it (stutters at 1500rpm unless i change to a lower gear and raise them up) Seems like there is a power loss. 2 seconds after i start it the check engine light comes and stays on. The lightshow autometer stays on green. Sounds maybe its misfiring sometimes.
I checked the timing maybe 20 times yesterday, I even put the stock camgear on to make sure its dead on (thought maybe skunk2 was off), I reconected all the sensors. Any ideas would be great. thank you.

No i did not retune the hondata, Im scared to drive it at this point. The car was just running with the exact same setup except for a d15b block and head. I replaced the cam from the d15b head to the d16z head. so bassically everything is the same exept the actual block and head. The car was running 3 days ago with 0 problems on that setup but i screwed up and overboosted it. Now i had to move it out of the garage because they are repaving it so i had to do the swap quick. Im 100% sure that i hooked everything up the same! I just dont understand what couldve went wrong. Does a d16z6 need something done different than a d15
