92 civic hatch stalls at lights?
Its a auto trans.
swapped in D15B(~30k)145k on chassis
whenever the car comes to a stop at a light, and i release the brake to go for the gas..the car stalls
i put it in neutral and it starts again after giving a little gas.
these are the things i was told to check:
plugs
cap/rotor
carbon canister
throttle body
motor mounts?(the motor starts shaking at idle/stop and slow driving)
can anyone help?its embarassing(especially at a busy intersection)
i can give more details upon request

SO when you release the brake to go take off it stalls?
Not when you stop at the light?
Check engine light on?
IF you say the car is shaking at idle and low rpm driving it sounds like it might have a little misfire, when is the last time you did a tune up on it? Spark plugs,cap/rotor,oil change?

its not during gear reduction
only at slow coast or after braking
the motor has only been in for about a month
and the motor has always shaken(i think someone installed one of the mounts incorrectly) but i've heard that that can be a problem.
do i need a full tune up after the motor being in for so short?
there has been a check engine light too since the swap which is a code 14 for the IAC which i've replaced and its still there.
maybe a evap leak?
also at about 1000rpm the revs surge but thats been going on since before this recent problem

Did you do the tune up when you bought the motor? It is a used engine correct? not brand new?
If someone put a mount in wrong they have a problem..
You need to fix your cel, a IACV can cause yor problem.

i bought the motor used from nippon motorsports(a decently accredited and well known place)
along with the motor they replaced the timing belt, tensioner, water pump, radiator, all seals and gaskets, plugs, and there were some other things too but i'd have to check paperwork
i noticed that one of my spark plugs had a little bit of oil on it when i pulled it out.
i've replaced the IACV and the problem persists

i'm on the verge of (regretfully) taking it to the shop that did the swap
i've checked everything and tried everything i could think of

Re: (court)
i'd say something happened to your iacv wiring during the swap
at the shock tower plugs...the physical iacv connector...or possibly at the ecu.

I had the same problem in my boosted z6. It ended up being a vaccuum line leak. These are far more noticeable if you have a vacuum brake booster system. The reason for this is that the brakes take vaccuum pressure and when it releases it should go back to the manifold to help keep idle up.

Im having a very similar problem, First i replaced the tps/throttle body with a used one of another of my motors. Problem got better but not gone, cleaned the FITV today and my idle was a lot more stable, but it still stalls sometimes, and i get a CEL that goes away when the is re-cycled (off-on) which is a soft code. I havnt had time to check it, but ill try to re-post if i fix it soon.
