I have a 92 civic dx and my check engine light has started coming on recently. When I go to brake she will idle down so low that she cuts out , unless I hold my foot on the gas/brake at the same time. But once you get stopped , she will idle little rough. But she does not cut out. Any suggestions would help.

You can try checking your Idle Air Control Valve, I had that problem but I wasnt showing my check engine light, also when I would stop at a stop light it would bog down wanting to die. I bought a new Idle Air control valve and it works fine now.

Doesn't the check engine light have to be on to check the code. Everytime I go to get it checked it will go out and then come back on another time.

I paid $216 for a new Part, but I figured I would get a new one cause you have warranty on it unlike a used for $90 that might not have warranty. Also you could shop around for one and get different prices.

do u know if a iacv off of a 89-90 civic will work on mine... i have one someone gave me as a parts car and was wondering if it would work

Try taking off your IACV and see if it looks identical, because personally I wouldnt know. Maybe other guys could help you there, that have more experience with different year models.
