Default 92-95 JDM B16A dead spot problem

UPDATE: Checked ignition timing and it was off. Set it correctly and the B16 runs perfect with no dead spot.

I know it's been years but I remembered that I didn't update this thread with the solution.

My B16A acts strange sometimes. It has kind of a dead or weak spot when accelerating from about 2900rpm up. It usually happens in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear, and I think I simply don't notice it in 1st and 2nd because it revs so quick. Like I said, it doesn't happen every time I drive it, sometimes it'll go weeks with no problem. Makes me think it's something electrical as opposed to a vacuum leak or a lean spot. It is bone stock except for a real cold air intake box and the original WS exhaust system. It runs nice (minus the dead spot) and somehow gets 36+/- mpg (no lie).

I did a full ignition tune up and no difference.

Your TPS could be acting up, and causing your engine to pull incorrect timing, resulting in you losing power at strange times. My $.02, as I am looking into similar problems.

I am wondering if it is a intermittent TPS problem. I'll test it soon. Thanks

Don't know, could be. I will say that this motor pulls real strong through the midrange though. Don't know if the WS exhaust would be the cause.
