"""OBD2 engine into OBD2 vehicle using OBD2 ECU (NOTE: YOU CAN NOT MIX 96-98 OBD2A and 99-00 OBD2B ENGINE AND DASH HARNESSES WHEN SWAPPING ENGINES INTO 96-00 CIVICS AS THE ECU CONNECTORS ARE DIFFERENT SEE FIGURE 11
D16Y8 using P2P ECU
DX/LX/CX - D16Y7
Mostly plug and play. VTEC solenoid, VTEC pressure switch and knock sensor will need to be wired in (Figure 6 for OBD2A, Figure 7 for OBD2B). Also the idle air control valve will need to be wire from 3 wire to 2 wire (Figure 6 for OBD2A, Figure 7 for OBD2B). The secondary O2 sensor wiring will have to be lengthened by using an O2 adapter if you are using an EX style catalytic converter. The intake air temperature sensor will have to be relocated in the intake arm somewhere as the Y8 manifold doesn't have a place for it (see figure 8)."""
nice info, I think it says what I see except for the distributor plugs are different, and my ECU's from both 00 and 97 civics have all pins present - no empties.... help!!
Does this writeup suggest using the original body and engine harness with the vtech engine and ECU? If so won't it need a jumper harness? The wiring is not even similar!
i put a 97 civic ex a/t d16y8 engine and harness and ecu into a 00 civic lx a/t d16y7 body!!!
Do I use the EX parts in the LX body then rewire - or - scrap the vtech power and use the Lx harness/ECU - or - scrap the entire vtech top half and use the entire Lx setup except for the EX bottom half engine?!?

Re: 92-00 Honda Engine Swap Wiring Guide VTEC AND NON VTEC
Hey guys, I need some help. I have a 1998 Honda Civic DX and I just got a 2000 civic Si swap. It came with engine harness and computer. I am missing the plug connector A that comes from the main engine harness. My DX does not have that plug. Also I don’t see the plug for the canister box on the engine bay. Any ideas of what to do? I saw that that plug is for the fuel pump relay but there are a lot more wires though? Can someone point me on the right direction please.
