why would you put an older motor into your newer civic? Not even sure that its recommended since the sensors and obd won't match. I could be wrong.

YOUR 150% WRONG,

age doesnt matter, D16a6 is strongest block for boost and best for high compression and all sensors match

You need the timing belt side bracket (the bracket attached to the engine underneath the timing cover) & timing belt/driver's side mount, and the rear mount & bracket from your stock engine.

Like I said. I could be wrong... but he didn't talk about boost or just moving a block. Isn't 92-95 Obd1? What is the ef?

I see where you're going with this, however, the OBD won't make a huge difference on the bottom end but an OBD 1 head will need to be used unless he has a jumper harness to convert from obd 0 to obd 1... The transmission will be cable though instead of hydraulic and that will have to be dealt with as well...

Well, the fan switch, injectors, distributor,O2 sensor, maybe IACV(depending) are all different. But as far as swapping it in just use all the 5th gen stuff like mounts and brackets. It'll be really easy to get in, I'd just get an ecu for a non vtec jdm sohc ZC or a p06 with a basemap for the A6.

When swapping a '92 - '95 D-series in an '88 - '91 civic you use the '92 - '95 bracket with the '88 - '91 mount, so one would assume in your case the opposite is true. '88 - '91 bracket with '92 - '95 mount.

Wait a minute, are you said EX and VX mounts, are they the aluminum 3 post/hole version? or the 2 hole black steel version?

i have both i have the aluminium 3 hole and the black 2 hole, both fit on the a6 block but sit WAY crooked, and the a6 bracket and moutn fits but the 88-91 mounts are way thinner so it have lots or free play in the chassi spot .

here this thread has some pictures,

Ok, i've looked at the pics. Basically the info I have, say use the A6 metal post bracket that bolts to the block with the black '92 - '95 civic mount that bolts to the chassis. So what you're saying is that the '92 - '95 black mount wont bolt to the A6 bracket?

Exactely the 92-95 mounts dont bolt up to the 88-91 bracket,

so im thinking is using the 88-91 bracket and mount and because the mount is thinner i will put some washers.

as otherwise i have no clue, if u or anyody know someone that put a 88-91 engie in a 92-95 please ask, and i know lots of people rock d16a6 for boost in there 92-95.
