Default 87 oct. gas ?!

Hey Guys just wondering with the price of gas what it is right now (about 2.00 a gallon for 93 OCT. where i am) is it safe to run 87 Oct. in my b16a 10.6 to 1 compression ? Yeah I know im being cheap but I have a 60 mile round trip to work each day and I dont make much money any thoughts ?

(other then if you cant afford the gas dont buy the engine ?)

Hahah i think its funny how even us honda guys are complaining just imagine if we were to drive chevys or Fords

Anyways for 89 gas here in phx its at about 2.09 for 91 its about 2.19 and we dont get 93

yeah this sucks thank god we drive hondas but still i put 11 bucks of gas at 2.09 and i got 3/4 of my tank full while my bro in law is pumping 45 bux to fill his '00 chevy 1500 hahaha

if your cheap don't do it cus you will be spending money on a new motor if you do. A stock B16 with 10.2 to 1 on the gas cap says high octane only. use your head.

93 here in Florida is 1.89 It sucks. I will always use high octane gas in my motor. I used to drive around with my fuel pressure boosted up and my car tuned rich for nitrous because I was to lazy to change it when I wasn't racing. After I started spending like $40 a week in gas (40 mile round trip to work and I go to school 2 days a week which is like 30 mile round trip) it quickly changed my mind and I change my settings for weekly driving. As for safe to use 87 octane. It will probably run, but why take a chance? Keep your motor running good because B-series aren't cheap.

I think I would just buy the better gas, octane booster may not mix evenly.

try Xylene paint thinner.

"Auto Tap showed 3.9 gallons of gas before we added the Xylene and 4.9 gallons after we added the Xylene. This gave us a 1:4 ratio of Xylene to gasoline providing us with an approximate pump octane rating of 97.7"
