Cheap gas??
every gas company will have different "kinds" of gas. some may dillute their gas with alcohol, water, you name it... it would be best to stick with a well-known gas company. it may say 93 octane, and it could possibly be 93 octane, but who knows what else is in it as well.
i wish *I* could get 93 octane. But thanks to every yuppy **** in california that thinks their car NEEDS "premium," the demand can't be met. We used to get 92 but then the SUV craze kicked in and Grey Davis signed some stupid stuff in his infanate wisdom, now we only get 91. I have to go to a 76 equipped with 100 octane and mix it in with my 91 or I get pre-detonation. BOY OH BOY!
also one more thing. If the gas station carries desil, there is a high chance that 87 octane is mixed with 91/93 to get 89 octane. So if you go to fill up with 91/93 octane and they RAN OUT of 91/93 octane, chances are you are filling up with 87.
