6G forum?

6G forum?
There's a lot of valuable info here, don't get me wrong... but I'm beginning to think I'm not looking in the right place.
I've got a 97 HX - It is what it is... And I'm interested in what's available (all aspects). Not 'it's an HX, why bother...'
Anyone know of forums specifically related to the 6G (EJ)?
Thanks for the help... It's appreciated.

This is the forum for 6G people too. And as I'm sure someone will tell you there's not a whole lot you can do to tune a D16Y, so whats available it the same basic bolt-ons for every other civic unless you wanna swap.

That's the kinda help I'm looking for... Thanks.
I was thinking brakes 1st, seems to be the weakest link (for the type of driving I do). Any specific advice for a cost-effective upgrade?

I say 5 lug, but mots of people with argue with me. Just remeber with most brake upgrades do the MC and booster, and the Prop valve for max effect! good luck!

the weakest link for any type of driving is the tranny, like i said. the HX trans has long *** gears which are good for gas but really bad on performance. you can probably pick up an EX tranny for a couple hundred bucks. mods beyond that depends on what you want to do... autocross or road racing i would say get some nice springs, shocks, sway bars, strut bars, integra GSR brakes ect... for drag racing, try a turbocharger.

Agreed on the tranny note - is the EX bolt in? No drag, just daily and pushing it on switchbacks
Different note: I've read varying 'opinions' on vtec kick in - ranging from 4.8K to 6... Why do I notice such an increase in power right @ 3K?
Thanks again for the input...

EX tranny with 4.9 final drive
Y8 intake manifold
EX ecu
header
exhaust
b20 tb
mid 15s if you drive it right...
edit: everything bolts up if you have a 8, 10 , 12, 14, 17, 19, 21, and 32 mm sockets, a phillips and a flat head screw driver.
good luck

basically, this is the thing, they should make a socket set for honda's which basically include those sizes listed, plus wobbles for each drive size, long *** extensions in 3/8 and 1/4" drive, and thro in a thumb rachet for 1/4 and 3/8 too.

Dude...Hxs have potential like any other honda. Mine ended up going 13.7@104 before I sold it.
There is plenty of info here, and in the tech and hybrid pages on HT.

Yeah I'd take an HX motor in a heartbeat for my D-Series 1990 hatch.
I remember seeing an HX vs. EX dyno sheet where the HX motor actually had more whp. The HX has a more efficient roller-rocker design that's unique to VTEC-E.
Add the stuff that RR98DX said and your car will definately be much better off than it is now.
The HX is my favorite coupe stock. Lightest coupe and good features.

Thanks for the input guys, exactly what I was looking for.
I have the tools and experience necessary - will be doing everything myself.
Now, where to round it all up? Know of reputable sites that'll ship via freight? Don't really want to try the local route - condition is always highly questionable, and it's unlikely I'd get what I actually asked for...
