Default 4- wire 02 in cx..experienced only!

just wondering if i have to do any wiring to run a 4 wire 02 sensor in my cx hatch.. running d16z6 with d16z6 engine harness. i was told the pins for each wire, but there are already wires in those pin locations..

and where the engine harness plugs into the other half at the struts... it looks like all the d16z6 wires are there except for 3 for vtec. lmk. thanks

u will have to run the four wires directly to the ecu, thats the only easy way, and next time search i did and I found it.

well the wires are already there in my cx from the strut tower back to the ecu. and the wires are there in my z6 egine harness..... but i didnt know if i was still supposed to just hard wire it and skip that plug.

should i go to the ecu where each wire is going into the ecu for the 02 sensor, cut it off, and run my own wire from the 02 sensor to that peice of wire coming out of the ecu?

reason i ask is cuz i have a check engine light... not sure what from yet. and my a/f gauge is hooked up right.. tapped in by the ecu.. but doesnt work. it glitched on for about one second when i first started the car. thanks again

YOU DON'T NEED TO DO **** TO THE 4 WIRE O2. I HAVE THE SAME THING IN MY CAR. THE only wire you have to wire is the vtec wires that it good luck.

yea. i got it. i thought that is what it was like... but my a/f gauge wasnt working so i questioned it.. but i had the lead wire to the wrong thing but thanks for the help. maybe this will help somebody else down the road. and i have my vtec wires wired already..... vtec solinoid goes to a4 .... vtec oil pres. switch blue/ black wire goes to D6 . the black wire from vtec pres. switch just gets grounded out. that is how mine is wired and everything seems to be working.

let this die now!

The CX ( 1 wire 02) and VX ( 5 wire wideband O2 sensor) wiring harness need to be modified to work with a 4 wire O2 sensor. Speak when you know, not when you're pulling **** from your ***.

you are stupid, shut up.

If you found the four wires at the shock tower than use them, i just didn't bother looking for them cuz it takes time so i said it's the only way.

umm... actually you are. and to EF9_SIR. you two are both wrong and speaking out of place. that guy answered correctly according to my question and was helpful. SO.. if YOU dont know... dont pull **** from your ***.

i asked if i use the D16Z6 engine harness and plug it into the cx car harness at the struts. would i need to wire anything. the answer is NO. the D16Z6 engine harness is already wired. and my 94 CX hatch is already wired for the 4 wire 02 sensor from the strut tower ~> the ECU. and that is fact cuz my **** works, and i havent added any wires for the 02. just did the 3 wire changes for the vtec

These are facts:

- If you use a '94-'01 USDM DOHC VTEC Integra or an OBD1 EX/DX Civic engine harness in a '92-'95 Civic CX you will not need to add any wires for the 4-wire O2 sensor. They are already present on the cabin/body harness.

- If you use the '92-'95 CX engine harness you will need to run 4 wires (you can get by with only three if you are smart) into the engine bay. These wires are as follows.

wht/red - D14 - O2 signal
grn/wht - D22 - O2 ground
org/blk - A6 - O2 heater control
yel/blk - A25 or B1 - O2 12V switched

Please cut and paste this info and save it to repost later when the question comes up. This will help to avoid confusion.

These statements were made based on experience. They are facts.

If you have any questions just email me. Good luck.

First thing's first, I said that tvrsir is stupid not you, I only did that cuz people seem to talk when they don't know what they are talking about, I just saw some noob tell a guy that the propper way of doing a compression test is with a cold engine. Any way it doesn't matter that much which engine it is what matters is that the motor and car are obd1 in your case. And as far as you sayng I'm stupid, I did my swap my self including the o2 sensor, I searched for the info and found exackly what Kenji posted, started my car with out any codes, and if let's say I run accros you on the street, well your soch ain't ****. I didn't mean to be rude but that guy was writing bull, and you said I'm stupid so......

ok bitch. i hope you do run across me on the streets... and umm, what he wrote in this post. was not bull. it happened to be correct info. therefor, calling him stupid was stupid of you. and ummm.... this is my 4th swap that i have done. on my own thank you very much. the check engine light and problem i am having is not my fault. it is something messing up with my hondata. so you and ur b16 or b18 can kiss my ***...... dont talk junk. i wasnt calling you stupid, saying u had no right to call that guy stupid when he provided the correct info.

thanks for clearly this up i was about to rip them a new *******. how can they say this when i just told you i have the same thing in my car. the cx wire harness on the ecu side at the strut tower already have the pins for the 4wire o2 setup. so if you use a d16z6 si harness on the engine side you just need to wire up the vtec. FURTHURMORE if you have a 92 civic you don't need to wire anything up just plug the si harness to the shock tower and that's it. ALSO on the vtec plug. the ground is already there in the harness. you just need to wire up the other wire to the ecu.

and as for experienced i have done tons of swap from 88-91 civic crx to 92-00 civic all day long with great results. oh and as for calling the sohc civics slow i don't think so buddy. i have ran a 13.5 on street tires with a zex 65 shot kit. spinning first gear like you don't believe with a 2.25 60 foot .with slick 13.0 and high 12.s are there so don't talk smack everyone is here to help. OH DID I MENTION I WORK FOR ACURA FOR A FEW YEARS NOW.

Can't we just and take whatever misunderstandings we have and put them aside and try to HELP one another instead of flaming people. Everyone has a right to call someone else stupid, if the want, but that doesn't mean its something a you should do. Even if they really are stupid.
