Default 4 door civic type R...

I've recently been inspired to turn a 4 door civic into a racer. I bought a 97 dx with 65,000 and I have yet to swap the engine, because I wanted some realistic opinions on it. After the initial b18c5 is installed, what times should it run, and how many modifications will it take to run say 13's. I was also wondering if any of the very knowledgable members of this forum know how much a 97 4dr dx weighs.

I found this other car on ebay, and the guy says it will run 13's, but I don't think he knows what the **** he's talking about.

Any ideas what to do with this 4 door are appreciate.

ps-in case anyone asks why I didnt buy a hatch or crx, I wanted a sleeper that hardly anyone else has, and I like the look of 4 dr's.

if you swap in a b18c5, up the compression with some pistons and head gasket, put on some slicks, you will hit 13s.

How about drop the B18C5 in, give it the usualt i/h/e bolt-on treatment and add slicks and run high 13s.

My old 2289lb. Si hatch ran 13.9 on street tires with only mods being i/e and ECU.

Well just to give you an idea... my 4dr civic gsr powered ran a best time of 14.9 in hot phx weather (100 deg.) It was a stock gsr just with a bent to hell up dc header 4-2-1 I did lighten it quite a bit though... No airbags..No sound deadning material, Cf hood, on some 15" rotas with aziens... it was full interior though ohhh yeah and i cant really drive So a stock b18c5 should easly run mid to low 14's...
