We know the HX (D16y5) has roller rockers, but does anyone know if the 96-00 JDM 3-stage vtec D16A have roller rockers as well? Since it combines the VTEC-E and VTEC in one, i was wondering if honda carried the rollers over to this head eventhough it can change timeing/duration as well.

If you're talking about the D15B, the answer is no. I don't know of any D-series motor, except the D16Y5, that has a roller cam. Here's a picture:

He's talking about the JDM D16A. I've seen one at my shop when we replaced a blown D16Y8, but we didn't crack it open to lok.
