2nd Gen ZC Help (Transmission)
Okay, I bought a 1993 Honda Civic (HB) with a Sohc Vtec ZC Swapped into it. Unfortunately, the transmission's (Hydraulic) 3rd gear finally gave up; I'm not sure what kind of transmission it is, I believe it is possible the Original ZC that came with the swap. My question is: would I be able to use a 92-95 Si Transmission (Hydraulic) with this swap. Also, what other transmission's are available for this swap (I'm assuming any D16 Hydraulic)? I know the Si has a fairly short gear compared to Dx, but longer than Ex, and since I plan on boosting about 6 pounds, I'd imagine Si would be the best drag; correct? Also, does anyone have any helpful links on this swap in an EG, all I can really find is first Gen CRX ZC's and it's annoying (DOHC )
Thank you in advance with your help!

u can use just about any "D" tranny in there, as long as its hydro. even like a 99 ex tranny would fit, ive got a 93 d15b vtec mated to a 98 y8 tranny. the 92-95 ex and si trannys are exactly the same. http://home.cinci.rr.com/mistab0ne/tranny.htmlstay away from dx cx and vx trannys. use a 92-95 ex,si tranny, or a 96+ ex(y8) tranny. hope this helps

Id look into the JDM D15B tranny since it has the Option of LSD (if thats important to you) or go with a D16y8 tranny b4 going with the z6 tranny. the y8 tranny has stronger shiftforks. and the z6 tranny is notorious for busting shift forks. i know i blew out 3 z6 tranny's and they were all shift forks.

Re: (LadyExotic)
see thats just the opposite of me, ive been inside both trannys and the forks in the y8 are steel, but its just a thin plate welded to the rod, ive bent multiple forks in the y8 but never had a problem in the z6, the z6 are aluminum but they are beefier, the z6 are just prone to wearing out quicker, just more of my 2 cents.
