Re: 225's on my eg??? (egcivicturbo)
I have a 15inch (195/50 tire) rim with 38 offset.
I cannot put on a 205 because it will rub in the rear @ full compression
I also have a 17 inch rim with a 42mm offset mounted on a 205/40.
It does not rub but the rear fender has only 3mm of clearance..... very very close.
Given that a 205 will fit with a 42 offset, to get a 225 to fit without rubbing, you would need a rim with 50 offset.
I got to the numbers by.
225-205 = 20mm difference
20 /2 = 10 mm expasion on inner and outer side of the tire.
Since @ 42 offset, I had 3mm clearance on the fender, I have 2 mm to spare.
so....
42+10mm=52 offset<-- To maintan same clearance
52-2 = 50 <-- minimun offset so Tires do not rub the fender.
Hope this helps out.

They will work, if you dont have your car lowered much and your suspension does not have alot of body roll. They stick out some and if your car is low, then the fender will actually rest on the tire! I autocrossed on this setup for awhile. The center of gravity was too high so I am going 13x9 now.
