Default 2000 Honda Civic Si - Car won't start, need help!

I tried searching but no luck.
I bought my friends 2000 Honda Civic Si which sat on his driveway for over a year without starting. I purchased a battery for it since he had taken the old one out. When I tried to start it, the lights on the dash came on but car didnt start. Not even a clicking noise. Next I tested the starter, I used jumper cables to jump the starter and the car started right away...
I narrowed it down to being somewhere from the ignition switch to the starter, but im clueless as to what to fix. I tried to search for the starter relay (?) if it even has one but no luck. I kno the car had an aftermarket alarm. Here are a few pictures of what im talking about, any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks.

The plug right in the center of the pic that is disconnected is what i had to jump for the starter to kick in.... any ideas on what to look at next?

Is the rubber stopper that presses on the safety starter switch at the top of the clutch pedal missing or broken?
