Well my sisters boyfriend just got a turbo on his Si. He has the stock engine (B16A2)
Hes boosting 4 pounds of boost
I know thats not much but he dosent want to blow anything.
He has the following

MSD 6al
Greddy blowoff valve
turbonetic wastegate
Greddy Evo 2 Catback
He wants to sell it to me But i dont know if it will pass smog

Can i just go to like a smog station and tell them to run it too see if it will pass without affecting it so then i cant drive it???????

might pass the sniffer, but will fail visual immediately. i heard that there are shops that will pass "anything".... but it could cost over $500. best thing to do is to throw a "going back to stock" party every 2 years for smog

wth i know the restrictions are bad in cali but wtf, if they see that your car is modified they will fail you? thats wack. id think that if it could pass emissions visual wouldnt matter....

Best advice if your capable of doing it. It really isn't that much work.

no, not for a turbo kit. Greddy kits are legal, but i've heard people have problem with those too.

Dohctorthurst passed the sniffer with a stock b16, but they failed him because he didn't have a cat. So they can and will fail you even if you pass emissions level with flying colors. Unless you know a friendly shop.
