Default 2000 Civic front end??

I have a 1998 civic ex coupe and I bought 2000 civic Si front end. What do I need to do for the front bumper to hang right? Is there welding involved because that is what it looks like, anyone done this to theirs any pics?

u need to replace your radiator support with a 2000 radiator support and u need to weld the front half of the 2000 fenders onto your 98 fenders to fit the headlights. also u must use the 2000 hood so it will fit the headlights. u have to use any brackets that came with the 2000 headlights. its not that hard i did a 2000 front end conversion on a 93 hatch. good luck

There is no need for all of that **** EJcoupeGSR. Maybe there was when you did it but that was for a eg. He has a ek. You dont have to replace the rad support and you dont have to cut/weld the fenders.

thats what i did and it worked fine, if u dont wwant to cut and weld try just using the 2000 fenders but cutting and welding the fenders works for sure

why cutting and welding...

whats the reason for your replacement? both facelift?
just because of the Si lip?

but if you just ant to change it the Si front end fits just plug'n'play like your front end now

I know the pics don't work but read through this thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=790135. Basically its plug n play.

EJcoupeGSR... I have no idea what the hell you're talking about! You must be referring to the 92-95 civics.

who ever is saying that you have to cut the fenders and do welding is absouloutly wrong.you dont even have to change the radiator support either..all you have to do is cut a little bit of plastic of the left and right side of the bumper in the inside so that the bumper lines up with all the holes so that you can put in all the clips..trust me ive done it plenty of times ..its verry easy and nothing is needed but the full front end..easy

If you have a 98. basically... the same way you took everything off your car.... it goes back on the same say just using the 2000 pieces.

I have the whole front end: headlights, both fenders, Carbonfiber hood, type R grill and the front bumper.

The bumper doesn't bolt on correctly, so all I need is the radiator support?

You DO NOT need the radiator support. It should bolt on fine. Try modifying it abit like jdmdikk said.

Sometimes you might want to cut into the front bumper or the core support in order to have the bumper fit right. Many of the how-tos go over this.

dude all you need to know is that you have to modify the 2 little tabs where the bumper holds up next to the grill and you have to bend all 4 corners of the front brace that holds the foam peice. also you wont be able to use the foam. do as i said and you will be fine. i did it and my lines are perfect. you couldnt tell it was a 97.

i got the info from here.
