2000 civic EX under dash wiring harness(help Identify)
so, what started out as me wanting to get my front speakers to work......which they still don't......turned out to be a scare of wiring.....
please help indentify what plugs are these, where they go/what they are for.......thank you....
also.....if anyone has any insight as to why i can't get my front speakers to work would be greatly appriciated.....they are wired correctly behind the stereo but at the door there is nothing!!!....as in, there are four wires (which is weird to me) and no matter how i connect them to a speaker i get nothing!!!....i hate not having front speakers!!!
FIRST up
i know the blue box back there is for the keyless entry but i don't see a plug for it no where!!
i have no idea where the green plug goes or what it's for or the little plug???anyone??
SECOND: i found this little yellow plugg??? (don't pay no mind to the s***-wad of wiring back there)
THIRD: i don't know what any of this goes too!???
FOURTH: no idea here either!!?!?!?!? Other than the brown plug geos to the harness for foggs if you have them right??(probably wrong).......why is that plug back there JUMPPED??

That's NOT the keyless unit in the first picture. That's the white box in the third picture behind the driver's kick panel.
Yellow plugs are generally for the airbag system.

If you don't see the white keyless box I posted in the area behind the driver's kick panel, then it's missing. Did you miss that the diagram shows the wire colors in the plug?

everything under your dash looks fubar.
the plug next to your cruise control unit (that black box) is supposed to be for the door lock module/keyless unit (which is missing, you can see the bracket is still there though) the green plug is for the accessory alarm.
the blue box does look like the door lock module for 96-98, not sure why it is in your car. that's probably why you can't find a plug for it.
the yellow plug is for your passenger side airbag. the looped connector is for your starter cut relay.
i would try and get a new drivers side door harness and go from there.

Actually that blue box is needed. On all 96-00 that blue box is for power assist windows mirrors and is needed. There will be a grey plug that plugs into it but it will be just left of the HVAC (AC) controls area. there is a hole for a bolt just to the right of the steering shaft. Slide under the steering wheel and look straight up from where that box is and you should see the plug and the mounting hole. Why its down there IDK.
Pix2
that yellow plug is for the SRS(airbags) i believe its a test plug and should be left as is.
Pix 3 at the bottom Right is the plug for power mirror switch.
The grey plug just to the left of it should be the keyless entry plug but looks like you dont have the white box for it. If you need one with a remote I have one in the garage ill be willing to sell you.
For your speakers on the EX there are 4 wires for the bottom speaker. They will have twins that are the same color. Brown with red line (I THINK) there will be 2 those 2 together connect to one side (Positive or negative) on the speaker and the other 2 will plug on the opposing side. why there are 4 wires because 2 power the speaker and 2 run up to the tweeters next to the mirrors. To really find out what the issues is i recommend taking out the door panel (Pretty easy) and looking to make sure nothing is cut inside your door.
From what I can see looks like someone tried to do a DIY alarm and had no idea what they were doing. Good luck guy.

was that car originally an automatic? that explains why my 99 doesn't have it.

I was wrong on the box unit but yes it was auto converted to manual well mine was. OP might have the same thing that might explain the cluster fk of mess under his dash and the extra wires.

pull the lower console out and get a pic of the wires there if there are any. if theres a plug there with about 8-12 wires in it, the car used to be auto.

it's for the led for the optional security system. it should have been taped up. c448 if you're looking at a wiring diagram.

Omfg thank you so f**king much I've been searching forever lol I have an aftermarket one that came with the car when I got it. It had a bunch of problems and I've gotten everything back to normal and that's the only wire I couldn't figure out lol. Now I can just tape it up and have my mind at ease lol you are the ****
