1998 civic ex oil pressure light coming on intermintly while stopping
i recently purchased a 1998 honda civic. high miles but very well taken care of..
about 1500 miles after an oil change while slowing down or stoppping oil pressure light comes on. doesnt come on while driving have heard several different possibilties but would like some advise from someone with a little more knowledge of my vehicle

Either that or its very, very low on oil. Oil pressure isn't really related to oil level, but if you don't have any oil to pressurize then the light will come on.

if your oil level is ok.. and the light flickers at idle, and goes away when you rev it, its a good possibility that its the oil pump.
