Default 1998 civic ex with 95 civic ex tranny

Hello, I have a 98 civic ex with a 99 d16y8 motor with the 95 ex tranny. I think my RPMs are a little higher than normal. at 65 MPH in 5th gear i am at 3000RPM. I was wondering if it was normal for me to be at that high of an rpm in 5th gear. Is it because the tranny has low gear ratios? Also to get to this rpm i had to put the dizzy bak a little. If i lined up the dizzy straight up the RPM will be higher. Input please I am confused about this. Also, would it mess up my car if i run it like this. Thank u

I think there is something wrong with your dizzy, 3K rpm for 65 MPH is a bit to high. That's like using a B16 trans haha.

Recheck your Dizzy, do you remember how your RPM was when you had the Y8 trans?

And I heard the Z6 and Y8 trans were the same ration, correct me if I am wrong.

The biggest factor is tire height. only non-SI trans with a noticable difference in ratio is CX (which will do 65 at 3k in 4th gear!) Ignition timing has no effect whatsoever on vehicle speed.
