1997 civic lx sedan, 1.6 liter sohc nonvtec. please help with knocksensor replacemnt
so it is pinging and i want to replace the knocksensor. i found it, but how does it come off??? there is a rubber boot over the sensor and bolt area where it goes into the block. how does it come off to unscrew it?>

You don't have a knock sensor on the D16Y7. The sensor you are trying to unplug I believe is the oil pressure sending unit that measures oil pressure to send signal to the dash oil light and is covered by a rubber boot.

no knock sensor? what adjusts the timeing automaticly when you go? is their an advance mech on there somewhere? it pings when i put in 89 octane and 97 octane less pinging. trying to fix the pinging issue before i burn a piston. no valve tickage.
