Default 1997 B20B 97 B20 motor with P75 head P75-1, what car is this from, compression ratio?

have B20B JDM motor

looking at the head stamp it reads "9/6" within the first circle, (also, the head is stamped with the lable " P75-1"; i think i have a 97 B20B motor....

1. does anyone know which car in Japan this motor came from (orthia, SMX, CRV, etc?) and what year?

2. anyone know what is the compression ratio on this motor with this P75-1 head?

3. what is the hp? torque? (i know this varies depending on what car it comes from) can someone help me understand

thanks in advance!!!
(engine supplier tells me this is high compression motor, but i think its low compression, very curious)

I've never heard of any LS or B20's from the factory having high compression. I think they're all under 10 to 1(somewhere between 9.2-9.4 to 1). I think the B20 with a P8R head is the best stock B20. Well atleast that's what I've been told since it has bigger valves.

if you have a pre-98 crv motor... i want to say you have an 8.8 comp ratio.

i bought my block from hmo...and it does not have a P8R head so it low comp ratio

thanks, we have the same block then

I want to ask you:

1. what is the redline on this lower compression (8.8.1) B20 motor? how much can you rev to?

2. what do you think is the max HP and max Torque? and at what rpm?

3. is it wise to invest in a P8R block since it gives you more HP (20 more HP)?

4. do you have a FITV on your block/throttle body?

thanks!

what kind of head does an Orthia B20 have?

thanks!

well...the 96-98 Orithia came with a P8R head...the 96-98 Step Wagon also came with P8R head..the 96-98 CRV came with either P8R heads or P75...so its either a SM-X, CRV or 99-00 Step Wagon..

thanks, does the 99-00 Step Wagon also have an P8R head since you mentioned the 96-98 Step Wagon has a P8R head?

(you mentioned the 99-00 Step Wagon has a P75 head, but its higher compression is suggesting to me it has a P8R head instead?)

thanks in advance!

sorry and thanks, because right now this is the question bothering me a lot...

is there such thing as a p75 head, b20 motor that has high compression (9.6.1/9.2.1)?

...since the 99-00 step wagon may have a P75 head w/ 9.6.1 compression
