1996 Honda Del Sol Front End Help Please ...
Hi all, first time post for me.
I'm looking into a 1996 Del Sol that had a front end acccident & was looking for ideas, thoughts & or opinions on getting this repaired.
As you can see she took a pretty good hit directly in the front towards the drivers side. Both bags were deployed but car still runs & drives ... Not far mind you as the radiator was destroyed.
Worth re-building or better to part out? ... Any thoughts would be helpful & greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all in advance,

well if you decide to part it out, then PM me. I'd like a few things off of it if you do.

I was hoping that the front end could be pulled to within specs & then re-assembled. She's still a great running car with fairly low miles (under 80k) so I was hoping to get her back on the road.
I know most insurance companies total cars when air bags have been deployed but aren't some of these cars still being rebuilt by bodyshops & being put back into action?
Has anyone here ever had one looking this bad & got them repaired?

I'd say part it. It may have really low miles but you don't really know what the accident did to the rest of the car. Because it's a targa top, it's not as rigid as a Civic even with the top on. Who knows what happened to the frame... I would think you're going to have a lot of costly repairs trying to keep that one alive.
Maybe find a rolling chassis and make one good Sol out of the two??

feedback from http://www.solsociety.com may be a little more specific with regards to the pros and cons of rebuilding vs. parting. good luck. save her if you can. dont put anything but another del sol front end on her. imo

I agree with this guy. Sure it can be fixed, but unless you are going to do it yourself or know someone who can do it, it is going to cost more than it is worth.

Re: (Syndacate)
Thanks for the feedback guys ... It really does help me with my decision.

your call though, depends what ya wanna do</TD></TR></TABLE>
Could anyone equate this possible 3-4 hours of labor into US dollars? Iv'e never had any such service work done on my cars before. Would you think that $150.00 per hour hour would cover the expense? If this service costs around $600.00 or so I would think that it may be possibly worth salvaging this beast ... No?
Thanks!

That's going to cost over $4000 to be fixed. I repaired a car with a bit less damage, and it cost me about $2000 - but it didn't have A/C or airbags, and the frame rails were straight.

Thanks .. That's what I was hoping to get, a good ball-park number.
Sounds like "parting" is in store!

I'm no professional adjuster or body man, so take my remote assessment FWIW. If you want a good accurate estimate for repair costs, have someone from a local body shop take a look at it.
