CUT? Why? Exposed cams seem risky.

The cams are under the main part of the valve cover. The cams themselves will not be exposed. He's referring to the 2 inch section over the timing belt/cam gears. To allow access to adjustable gears without removing the valve cover each time...

Jigsaw with a metal bit. Clean up with a dremel.

what works really well.. if you can find them. Is a huge hole saw. clamp the cover down to a piece of wood so that the drill bit in the middle (to align/guide the holesaw) drills into the wood while cutting half a circle into the valve cover. Then do the same for the upper timing belt cover. You could also buy a half moon/laser cut valve cover...

they're called moon cuts and machine shops can do them for you. diy is going to look jagged unless you spend a ton of time with a dremel to get the curve look right.

Honestly, on a CW I love the way a Red valve cover looks. But the Yellow also is nice too.
