1995 eg6 w/b16 wont crank
I have A 1995 eg6 with a b16 swap. i recently started putting the car back together after it sat for awhile. I hooked everything up and when i go to start the car i have fuel pressure but no cranking of the starter at all. Every once in a while i can hear a click from the starter but it only does it once and then i key the ignition and it doesnt happen again. when i key the ignition to try and start the car I hear a clicking coming from the fuse block under the hood. I live on the southside of chicago if anybody is close i would be willing to pay you to help. if you can help either way i would appreciate it i am getting very frustrated.

Did you connect the large cable to the starter motor? The click sound you hear suggests that the small starter solenoid wire is connected. Post pictures.

ok i changed the starter and it worked! it starts but now it wont stay running. I assume the timing needs to be set due to the fact it did not have a distributor. Is there a somewhat easy way to do this. also i do have a p30 computer if that helps.

ok thanks for the help so far. My next issue is the car starts up but will not stay running. i looked at the timing marks and there is no timing cover on the engine. How can i get the engine to stay running and adjust timing.

It shouldn't matter if you have no upper timing cover. But seems there is another issue permitting you to even do this. Is there any cel flashing? If so pull the codes and post them. Also when you put the key in the ignition does the cel appear for 2 seconds? Can you hear the fuel pump prime?

Having no lower cover will just make it easier to see the mark. Jump the service connector, it's a 2pin connector right beside the ecu jump it with a paper clip put in in the 2 slots. Then count the blinks.

Ok so I jumped the connector and the check engine light flashes. Is there a certain way to count them to find out what they mean. They flash a few short flashes and a few long flashes. Then it pauses they start again. Btw im a total newb and dont know anything about hondas.

This can be found in the FAQs at the top of this section. Seems you already figured out the connector jumping part, but here is the link:
https://honda-tech.com/honda-civic-d...lists-1901557/
In short (taken from the above link):
A LONG flash (1 second) is 10
A SHORT flash (0.5 second) is 1
You'll get descriptions for the resulting code in the above link.
FYI, you won't be able to do the ignition timing procedure (sheet a few posts up) if you cannot get the car to run. You need the engine to be warmed up (@ warm idle) to set the ignition timing correctly. You're not there just yet.
For now, just put your distributor near the middle of the adjustment hole and finish troubleshooting before you actually set your ignition timing.

Last night i got the car to stay running but is was around 300 rpms and as soon as i touched anything it died. ok so i if i did it correctly i came up with 4 long and 1 short. which is 41 Primary oxygen sensor heater. the second one i got was 1 long 1 O2A - Oxygen sensor #1. The last one was 1 short and 4 long 14 IAC (EACV) - idle air control valve. this connection is unplugged and i can find the connector to reconnect it.

I know this will sound silly but I can't find the plug to plug it in. The plug in the picture is not the correct size and I looked under the intake for one but did not find anything.

Sounds like you need to buy another one, you can't just plug it in and be good to good, you'll have to calibrate it with your multi meter. I'll give you the write up when your ready.

Re: 1995 eg6 w/b16 wont crank
ok i will take a video when i can. My concern is the sensor does not have a plug to go to it and was not connected. i have another swapped honda with a b16 in it that runs and drives and it does not have the sensor in the above picture. i checked the tps and changed it with another one and it still does the same thing. when i take the vacuum hose that goes to the brake booster off the intake manifold the car starts and runs to 2500 rpms. then when i slowly put the hose back on slowly choking off the vacuum til its all the way back on it drops to 300 rpms but stays running. while running i slowly twist the throttle open and it makes a loud screech and then dies.
