I have the nut straight, used breaker bar already. Car still moves back a little. Looks like am going to have to go buy a compressor.

dont suppose you can post a pic of what your looking at? ive used the electric impact to get the axle nut off and i didnt straighted the staked part out either.. it would be easier to see what you are looking at.

Re: (jvaughn)
really? a breaker bar didnt work? (well i mean obviously lol) but damn. i guess use your favorite brand of penetrating lube re-load after lunch and try it again. im guessing like these other guys you mean the nut. the big *** nut that is right in the middle of your center caps (take your wheels off) when you unstake the nut it should not take that much force to break it free.
righty tighty lefty loosie?
*edit
i read your question again, so you dont have your motor out of your car but everything is apart? so is the motor "out" and the axles are stuck inside the Hubs? just one end? i think i just got more confused

just stick a flat in the rotor...you know the lil holes between the front and back sides? just stick a flat head in there to lock it in place, then pry the **** outta the nut...should work unless you are a lil weakling...gl man...serious...don't break your back on a lil bolt

Have someone sit inside the cab pressing the breaks with all the force of God.......Then I take a big craftsman socketwrench and put the handle to my huge jack over it and use that as a huge breaker bar. Works every time.

yea, have someone push the brakes, thats what I do everytime and I never use a breaker bar just a regular 12 inch ratchet usually works fine.

Re: 1994 honda del sol axle removal
I know that this an old thread but im having the same problem. I used a 24" inch 1/2 drive breaker bar after flatting out the nut. I snapped the tip off the first breaker bar. And tried my impact gun and didnt even move. I even tried using the breaker bar and the brakes on. Can anyone help? If not im going to just cut the axle nut off.

The brakes will not help at all people. Use your head!
Put the wheel back on the car. take the center cap off to revael the axle nut. lower the car down so the weight is on the wheel so it will not turn. pushing on the brakes alone will just not put enough pressure to hold it still.
Soak the nut in unlocker best you can and try again.
If all else fails buy a 20$ propane torch and heat it up a little , it will come off.
