1993 civic running really rich ....Help!
So heres the deal.My bud has a 1993 civic and the car blows black smoke like its going out of season. Here is a list of the things we checked. Please add more things to check if we missed anything.Plus there is a really bad smell coming from the exhaust. The car idles sweet. And thier is also a vtec problem that we cant figure out either. If you put your hand up to the tip of the exhaust and whack the throttle there is a rich moist black dust substance all over you hand when you pull it away.
Replaced head gasket due to overheating(dont think its related)
added fuel presure reg(set to 41 psi)
changed spark plugs to ngk(2nd cylinder, spark plug was gummed up)
Tested spark plug wires
set timing
Pulled fuel injectors out and turned ignition to on position(no leakage found on any injector)
Cranked the motor over and injectors spray pattern looked cool
Need some info guys!!I'm running out of options.
