Wow that looks really good! But in other words, yes, you are having to weld to have a complete seal at the mounting points. Did you decide not to have the resonator installed (welded) or was it a last minute buy?

I figured I would rather have an exhaust shop find the perfect spot to locate the resonator, than chance the resonator placement being off and fouling up on the shifter linkage or other under body stuff. So I bought the resonator seperate.
This should also give me a chance to locate the resonator as close to the engine as possible, which should lower the raspy/rattly exhaust resonance sound.

The piping kit kit consists of three separate pipes that will will be clamped together. The end muffler and resonator will be welded on to the piping. The test pipe will be welded to the header on one side and the piping kit on the other. I would like to kit the option to easily disassemble the exhaust in the future if I need to.

Oh no problem, this is exactly what I wanted to hear. I was really interested in getting a Spoon N1 exhaust but can only find them with the last bit of the exhaust that goes over the lca attached, never just the muffler. Is that piece also removable so that I could just use the one that comes with the exhaust?

Just got the entire factory exhaust off today. Hopefully I will have the Bisi header on tomorrow and the complete exhaust done by Friday.

Everything went as expected, except the dip stick was hitting the number 3 primary. After bending it back slightly, everything lined up good.

Re: 1992 SI Hatch RestoMod
So I am on the fence about installing a flex pipe on this exhaust system. I have solid motor mounts, so there shouldn't be a whole lot of header movement going on, but I have read a lot about all off bisimoto's parts coming apart in failing, cracking etc.....
I have built a few full exhaust systems, of which none had flex pipes installed, but I am nervous about possibly cracking this very beautiful and expensive Bisi header.
Any advice?????

Re: 1992 SI Hatch RestoMod
Hey guys. I was getting ready to rush through this exhaust just to get the car back on the road, but then I started having second thoughts about not having a flex pipe and possibly needing a third resonator....
So I pulled the trigger on a third resonator and a flex pipe today. I am making sure to get it done right the first time. I would be really pissed at myself if after investing so much in this, I cracked the header welds due to not having a flex pipe or the exhaust had a ricey tone to it due to needing an additional resonator...

Yup that's the plan, a little cheap insurance.
I was never a fan of flex pipes either, but the braided inner liner on this flex pipe should allow it to flow comparable to keeping a straight pipe, but with out the risk of cracking a questionable bisi product.
