Default 1000 mile round trip at 80 mph @ 5500 rpms

ok me and friends at planning on going to nopi from melbourne fla. thats like 500 miles round trip. i just finished my swap. 93 b18a1 with a 91 jdm b16 cable tranny. i forget tranny code but gears are real short. i put it on 95 the other day and it was at 5500 rpms @ 80 mph. i feel its a good running motor. no codes, engine lite is off. no obviouse problems. but i feel like the trip will be pushing it. i know theres no way of exactly knowing but i wanted to get some second opinions...

it'll be fine. Run some stp fuel cleaner in the tank before you go and let it work through... that way you'll be cleaning it out while using it.

You'll be fine. Keep an eye on the temperature and make sure you check/change your fluids before you leave. Air pressure and all that good stuff.

Ya, might sound crazy but when I poor fuel injector cleaner or any addative of the sort to my gas I usually take the highway back through town so that I can power it on really hard around the on and off ramps so the gas all pulls to one side, gives it a chance to mix....just my $.02, but it is very logical if u think about it...

EDIT:
On a regular engine that might be high but on a honda engine that's fine... Yeah it's a little high and u won't be getting the best mpg, but I doubt anything'll happen

What road is this where ur gonna be doing 95 the whole way w/o getting stopped? If ur talkin about the interstate state pol will nail u once in the 1k round trip if u stay at 95

lol cool guys i am glad to see the feedback. ill clear up the simple mistake...... 95 is the interstate... lol my bad im in melbourne fla.... lol i95..... but the car runs 80 mph around 5500-6000 rpms.... sounds like its screaming at me..... and im sure its guzzling gas...lol just worried about the long trip at such high constant rpms.

Not even close to logical. Stupid and pointless actually. Unless you have a K series motor you have a return type fuel system. Your pump does a hell of a lot of mixing than you "sloshing" your fuel around by doing on and off ramp acrobatics ever could. Ever wonder why you have a fuel return line?

85 MPH and you're on 5.5 RPM!?!?! Are you ride'n on 4th or 5th gear? Because I got a JDM B16A with a S4c Tranny and my gear is in 4.4-4.8 at 85 on 5th gear. BTW S4C is a SI tranny right?

He doesn't have an SI tranny. He has some cable tranny, not a hydro one.

Just run it to 2-4 gallons, then dump the additive in at the gas station, then top it off. Ever make a mixed drink? Same principal...and chances are the additive contains alcohol too

Honestly, that shouldn't be that bad. My 67 firebird has some weird gearing with the 3spd auto. I'm pushing 4300rpm doing 80mph (~5500 redline), so that's fairly close to redline. Its also a much heavier car, heavier internals, and weaker parts made almost 40 yrs ago. Many highway miles on the block I built at age 15, runs fine.

The thing that kills motors is the power at extreme rpm's. Even with 4 ppl in the car, you're just past the peak torque of that motor in a light car, with a motor made to redline past 8200. The worst that will happen is scaring the bearings if you let the oil overheat (take a few rests), aside from the occasional catastrophic engine failure
