1/4th Mile comparison of EG Hatch and EK Coupe
OK first off, I tryed searching but am still fairly new and had no luck. Second, I'm not sure of the exact chasis code for a 96-00 Coupe so I just put EK? sorry if that's wrong. Anyways, I was wondering what the stock for stock 1/4th mile times would be for an EX 96-00 Coupe and a Si/(next best trim) 92-95 Hatch. Both would be 100% stock. Thanks.

-too many variables
-too many of the dumb questions

Just pulling that up from another post on here to show you that it's fesible to estimate 1/4th times. Obviously they won't be exact as there are alot of variables, but unless you got some idiot driving the car stock for stock the times won't vary that much.

Trying to figure out wich is slower or if one will be a complete dog to daily driver until I swap it.

My 93 EX Coupe (same motor as a 92-95 SI Hatch) did a 15.908 in the quarter mile with a completely stock motor. My 60' time was a 2.3; with a 2.2 60' time, my 1/4 mile might be slightly faster.

Re: 1/4th Mile comparison of EG Hatch and EK Coupe (Ty_)
i guess i'll help out if noone else wants to..
-96-00 EX's usually run mid to low 16's, high 15's with some bolt-ons and a good driver
-99-00 Si's i've seen anywhere from high 15's to low 15's.
those are from personal expierences. 92-95 i'm not sure but from reading around here mid/high 15's - low 16's for the Si. a little slower for the coupes. (high 15's to mid 16's). but again, thats just from memory from reading around here. and of course it does depend on a lot of factors. all those times are with good drivers. my friend ran 17.8's with his CX EK hatch but as he got better his times did also. his best is a 16.6 with just an intake. i'm just giving you very rough estimates..

Re: 1/4th Mile comparison of EG Hatch and EK Coupe (screwballz)
Actually the EG Si and EX pretty much run the same time. The fact that the Si doesn't have a trunk is compensated by the rear disc brakes (discs are heavier than drums). They both run in between 15.9 to 16.1sec. Of course that's if the EX is not a slowmatic.
The EK EX coupe weighs in near 300lbs more and run in between 16.1 to 16.3.
Of couse there are exceptions to everything.
