Default 1/4 mile info

I currently own a 1992 honda civic lx and I am looking to by a 2004 acura tsx but I was appalled when I did a google search that a 1992 lx had a better quarter mile time than a 2004 acura tsx. I tried to find more times because I knew this couldn't be right, could someone please give me some accurate quarter mile times for these two vehicles, thanks.

Im no expert, but I would bet your sisters virginity that a 2004 TSX would hand a 92 LX its ***.

Rough guess, a 92 lx manual would run a 17 or 18 second quarter mile stock, and thats being generious. A TSX would probably hit a 15 or 16.

Let's solely look at the motors alone here. The TSX is running a k24 DOHC I-VTEC motor. While the LX is running a d15xx non VTEC SOHC motor. I'm gonna put my chips with the TSX.

sounds a little suspect to me... power to weight, powerband and gearing don't seem to support this claim, regardless of the amount of extra emissions/safety equipment fattening up new cars.

No problem. All that information was from http://www.edmunds.com.

BTW, a 4 door LX will run a high 16s with a good driver... just to clarify.
