Default 02 sensor bypass??

I have a 00 Civic SI and I noticed pieces loose in the catalytic converter so I broke it all out to where its hollow. Now I know in GM's when you want to put headers you can wire the 02 sensors to think there reading fine without triggering the CHECK ENGINE I was wondering if anyone has done this and where to get the bypass wireing kit?

is the vehicle stock? Those sensors tell your engine how much gas to feed it. You bypass it without aftermarket sensors and management, you're just gonna kill that poor engine. Yes there is a way to do it, but I'm not going to tell you because I don't think you need it.

not its not Stock has a header with a catback exhaust, I have done it on newer F-bodies because SLP makes a kit. on GM's the cats are hooked directly to the exhaust manifold so impossible to add headers without eliminating the Cats. Id appreciate some help because I've gone every where performance wise with this car without adding a turbo yet.

well you're just talking about the secondary o2, you can get o2 simulators on ebay

i've only heard of that working on the heater circuit (I rewired an IS300 to get rid of a cel), not on the o2 reading itself.

If it's the 2nd o2 thats in the cat just zip tie it to something under the car and plug the hole in the cat. two years with no cels for me. If it's the 1st o2, you need that, don't do ANYTHING to it.

an O2 simulator simulates the signal. the heater can be simulated with a high wattage resistor. I did a setup for a friend that sat in the ECU chassis. works perfect.

you can simulate the secondary O2, but simulating the primary is asking for engine problems.

it'll **** up how much fuel goes into your engine, and sooner or later, bye bye engine.

Why waste $30-40?

You can just unplug it, and plug the whole. Spend your money on a guage

because that is a hit or miss thing.
it will work fine as long as the O2 has enough heat dissipating area to keep from blowing itself up. And it has just enough air flow to send some signal to the ECU to keep it from setting the code. By air flow I mean combustion contaminates in the air.

you have a 100% chance of not getting a code if you pick up an O2 simulator.
Plus if you can build electronic circuits you can build an O2 simulator out of a simple 555 timer, total cost; $10 max.

if you unplug it you will through a code and your car will run like **** with the CEL on.

*edit* if you don't have emissions testing convert to OBD 1, get a OBD1 P30, JDM is fine and a conversion harness and forget everything else...

good Luck
