'02+ Civic Si Ecu the same as BASE RSX?
sup erbody. i was lookin at the new ecu program from Hondata for the base RSX k20a3 and was wondering if the ECU's in the new Si and base RSX were the same, and if this program for the RSX could be used on the Si? i am interested in a new Si and im tryin to figure out what the best mods would be for it.
the Hondata website doesnt mention if the ecu program would work on the Si or if the Ecu's were the same.
i would guess that they are the same, but im no expert.

Good question, I dont think they do tho.
The K20A3 in the RSX has an intake manifold like the old GSR's, where the K20A3 in the Si has the RSX Type S' single runner manifold.

If it was, I would think that Hondata would market their chip for the new Si. Just that many more potential customers.

Re: '02+ Civic Si Ecu the same as BASE RSX? (b00stn)
tru tru, all are good points-
-hondata has gotten over the immobilizer thing i think
-Marketing a chip as an "Si" chip would make more sense, so RSX chip prolly doesnt work
-Diff. intake manifold- didnt know that and that is prolly the most compelling argument why they wouldnt work cuz of short/long runner activation.
thanks guys, i think i saw something about R/D being done on the current Si on the site, so i guess we jsut have to sit tight.
