Well i have an similar setup, JDM B16A with,
- ITR valve springs and ITR cams
-Spoon thin gasket
-adjustable cam gears
-VAFC
And i am using a 98 CTR ECU and i found there is quite abit of knocking in 2000rpm to 3500rpm range. From my A/F gauge the engine is running rich all the way to 8600rpm, so i have to lower the fuel by the VAFC. But i am curtain it is much better ECU than factory B16A ECU. Good luck.

i too have a '00 si with the same setup and with a milled head and some fuel up-grades and i went to obd1, and i got a p28 socketed ecu from one of my boys... he ordered it from this cool dude https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=312595
his custom program is great! i also got the mugen chip but my car pulled better with his custom program. hope this helps, good luck!

i found that the ITR ECU on my GSR ran fine, but when i dropped the B16 in there, it ended up runnin too rich for the 1.6L and ended up fouling my plugs so bad that my car wouldnt start. so now im runnin a GSR ECU on my 00 SI motor.
