'00 civic SI
I am considering purchasing a used civic si with around 106,000 miles on the body and engine. It is stock except for exhaust and intake. I am dealing with a 3rd party dealership, and carfax came back clean. Should I take it to a mechanic to make sure their are no major problems? Also, should I be worried about timing belt and the water pump?
Thanks

Re: '00 civic SI (cdoubleg)
I would have it checked out, look for major leaks, and to check the compression on all cylinders, also i would have the timming belt checked for cracks, If it has only 103 miles on it and it looks like it been well taken care of, then i wouldn't worry to much about it hondas can take a beating and still keep on runing good. So it all up to you.

If maintenence was kept up and records can be shown, such as timing belt change at 90k, then it shows it was deinitely taken care of, in which case I would say go for it, it's an awesome car. Take it to a repectable mechanic and have it gone over just to be sure. Is the price reasonable enough to where it is worth it to fix the minor problems that it could possibly have? Good luck man.
