Re: radio issues
Your speaker and ground wires were pinned correctly, but your two power wires were swapped and the radio's illumination wire is Orn/Wht not Orn. The corrections are bolded below.
HONDA - AFTERMARKET
Left front speaker
(+) Blue - White
(-) Gray/Black - White/Black
Right front speaker
(+) Red/Green - Gray
(-) Brown/Black - Gray/black
Left rear speaker
(+) Blue/Yellow- Green
(-) Gray/White - Green/Black
Right rear speakers
(+) Red/Yellow - Purple
(-) Brown/White - Purple/Black
Ground wire
black - black
---------------------------------
Illumination
Red/Black - Orange/White
Power wires
Yellow/Red - Red
White/Blue - Yellow
Left front speaker
(+) Blue - White
(-) Gray/Black - White/Black
Right front speaker
(+) Red/Green - Gray
(-) Brown/Black - Gray/black
Left rear speaker
(+) Blue/Yellow- Green
(-) Gray/White - Green/Black
Right rear speakers
(+) Red/Yellow - Purple
(-) Brown/White - Purple/Black
Ground wire
black - black
---------------------------------
Illumination
Red/Black - Orange/White
Power wires
Yellow/Red - Red
White/Blue - Yellow

Re: 00 Civic -- Need help wiring my new JVC radio
OK I just tried the wiring and nothing works..gets no power or no lights...the only way I can hear the CD player get power but no LED is if I connect yellow/red with yellow..but still no lights I double check all wiring and did everything twice and still nothing. When I connected the power lines currently yellow/red - red and white/blue - yellow nothing happens.
I check the fuse box under driver dash instrument lights fuse was blown so I change it...don't know if I should check anything else.

There is a fuse under the hood as well. Check that.
If you want to see if the unit itself works, take it out. Take it to the battery and touch the positive wires, constant and switched, of the headunit to the positive terminal of the battery and the ground of the headunit to the negative battery terminal. Does the unit power on?

OK buddy I'll do that in case it helps
I test the two power wires from the OEM harness with a test light
The yellow and red has power
The white and blue does not.

The 7.5A hood Back Up fuse (protects Wht/Blu wire) is blown.
And rewire the unit as I indicated in post #11. That shows the correct way to wire the system. Don't rewire it when you have a problem.

Re: radio issues
This is really helpful, but not quite all of the information I need for my particular problem.
My stereo was stolen out of my 2000 Civic hatchback. It was an aftermarket CD player, and I was hoping to replace it myself. So I bought a Boss thing online...
In the "Electrical Connections" diagram, I have #4 sticking out of my dash, and the plug for the antenna. Then I have a bunch of lose, labelled and colored wires sticking out of the new system. What I'm not quite getting is how to attach these two ends or whether I'm missing a piece? Everything seems reasonable and straightforward, including which wires are supposed to connect where except for this one thing.
Thanks!

I don't know if its the right one but any stereo shop or stores that sell radios should be able to get you one.
