00 Civic hatch - problems with power locks/alarm light question
Ok so i got a couple questions but lemme start by saying what i got. Its a 2000 cx, 84k milage, completely stock, auto and its really REALLY clean. picked it up for about 2.7k a couple days ago, because i happened to be at a car lot when this guy wanted to trade it in and the dealer only offered him 1.5k torwards the new car. so i bought it right on the spot. =].
ok so first off, theres a problem with the locks, on the drivers side the inside lock sits about half way between locked and un locked. it can only be locked from the outside, and when i do lock it the other doors dont lock automatically, but it does if i lock it it on the passenger outside so im asumeing its suppose to do the same on the driver side.
my questions are as follows:
can this be an easy fix ?
if i take the door apart do i put anything else at risk? like the window parts and track or what ever...
Next, the alarm doesnt work, yet the light is always on, is this a stock item? the previous owner didnt have the remote...
thanks for your time, and I'll be posting pics as soon as i have permission to do so lol.

Re: 2000 civic hatch(EH2) stock. fix questions
OP: try pulling your handle (the one you pull to open the door) and pushing the lock in then.
As silly as it sounds, there is possibly your issue for the drivers side.
As for the rest, I'm not positive so I won't mislead.

Re: 00 Civic hatch - problems with power locks/alarm light question
As the hatch does not come stock with a power lock/alarm system, it may be safe to assume that this system are aftermarket. If so, it would be difficult to give you any specific guidance as we don't know how the system was installed or have a circuit diagram. This could be remedied by you figuring out what and how the system was installed.
If you remove the door panel, you could probably fix the mechanical problem with the door lock mechanism.

Thanks guys, and thank you Ron for your patience as im learning how this all works.=D even though i dont know much about cars I have always been a; if you can do it your self then get it done kinda dude so ya. i just need to start collecting tools, and find a place to work as i live in an apt.
i have a couple classic cars that i started showing and that is a whole different world aswell. i been told that dismantling doors can sometimes cause issues as some cars the inside pannel may be holding something else up or possibly wire issues beening in the way.
as for the alarm ill have to figure out where to get the details on it, i have the origonal owners number but hes on vacation traveling for the summer so he's a hard dude to reach.
ill try that handle trick though see if that works.

Re: 00 Civic hatch - problems with power locks/alarm light question
So i took it down to the alarm shop today before i started tearing down the door, the manager there seems to think that the person who worked on it before had set it that way on purpose so you cant lock the door with the keys inside, picked up a gx 200 or what ever for$120 and should be done within an hour and a half...
