I'll update it guys, I hadn't read it in a while and then once I did, some of the things I had learned made me think this was out of date enough to be edited some more and updated.

I.E. the ITR intake.....Not anymore. Get the right one for your application from AEM

well what about the jdm d15b sohc vtec motor? what could i do to raise the compression of that? the d16a1 pistons wouldnt work with my motor cause they would be too big so anything else

cool i personally think that y7/y8 injectors are ****(there the smallest cc) and the y7 head is **** and i think that the z6 is way better of an motor all around possibly the best d-series engine that is y i am building 1 and driving 1 using a y7 as a junker motor

I am about to do my head, you say the Y8 Head gasket, What year make and modle is the car it came out of? ? I have a 94 Civic DX 1.5 D15b7.... Im rasing the compression with this smaller gasket, I ahve also added a header, and in the process of P&P and brand new head!

and im installin a vtec head d16z6
with a p06 converted to a p28 and currently has a chip burnt with a stock D16Z6 map in a ZIF socket

what other mods cna i put to mak the car faster and more powerful?

My Civic 2000 DX has a stock automatic transmission D16Y7 engine.

I've only changed the OEM intake to a AEM SRI setup and changed the OEM exhaust A and B tubes to an APEXi World Sport 2 Catback Exhaust system

Right now, i've bought a D16Y8 Intake Manifold (IM) and an automatic throttle body from an 2000 Civic EX.

Was wondering if I were to swap out my D16Y7 OEM IM, for the D16Y8 IM and throttle, would it pass California SMOG test? Would I need an engine tuning? Idle?, etc.

If it's okie, i'll be looking at getting a Mishimoto Intake system for the D16Y8 IM.

Looking forward to everyone's experience and feedback
