Nah no muffler yet. I'll let you know...
But indeed, this header isn't all that great. I did get it for cheap though. I also might reuse the stock gasket or just get another new metal gasket from Honda, I'm not too fond of this soft material ****.

I'm definitely going to remove it though, aircraft strip it, get that small pen-head sized hole spot welded and recoated with high-temp paint. It's ok...for now.

I know. I'm removing the downpipe today to get that small little hole welded in and going to check the condition of the OEM gasket. I'm definitely going to re-install the OEM one, I'm not too fond of paper material coming in contact with such high temps.

Re: (Dimi)
Good write-up . Def install that metal gasket again. I re-used my stock one and didn't have any problems. Haven't heard anything about Hedmen Headers for a Honda...How are the welds? What kind of power do they claim to make? Also, I'm sure I don't need to tell you this but take your time if you plan on painting it. Strip it and rub it down with alcohol real well, and do a couple coats. Wrap it up in a towel when you're installing it again to avoid scratching it and be sure to use gloves

I don't know about the power increase, but I do feel my throttle response is a bit better and the butt-dyno tells me at least 2hp.
Welds kind of suck. Some parts are welded inside and out. And some just out. The downpipe has a hole about the size of a pen tip. I'm going to remove the entire header and down pipe to strip it. Then take it to a muffler shop and have 1 little spot weld cover that hole up. Then coat it again, but with high-temp BBQ paint.

I use a oem metal gasket with my stainless steel headers and it makes a terrible rattling sound. This is the same gasket that was on stock exhaust manifold before I bought my headers. Will getting a new gasket cure that?

Are you sure the rattling is coming from that area? I don't think it would rattle. If you torque everything down, the gasket shouldn't move, at all. Something else is loose hijacker.

good choice on replacing the gasket. that paper one will literally burn up.
im not sure if bbq paint will hold either. isn't that only rated to like 500? they make 1000, 1200 1400 and even 1500 degree paints. i've heard ppl use bbq paint successfully on exhaust pipes, but idk about the header. ehh give it a shot and let us know hehe
and about the rattling for the other guy-- its deffinitly not the gasket. the header would have to be un bolted for it to really move around any.

Everythings torqued. I'll just get a new gasket from Honda and see if that works.

The highest rate BBQ paint should hold. I doubt the header reaches 1,500*.

Re: (Deemeetree)
Does anyone know the proper torque setting that the header bolts/nuts should be torqued to? Also is there a proper torque sequence as well? I should probably just get a chiltons manual and stop asking all these questions lol But if any one can help me out on this, i appreciate it. I'm planning on doing the header install this weekend.
